Users on the Valet Manager A/R Monthly platform can a quote and send a sign up link for potential customers using the point of sale. This method of signing up customers is useful when the garage is busy since the customer completes the majority of the sign-up process via a link sent to their cell phone.
Before Getting Started:
1. The quoting and sign up process requires a negotiated monthly price - the attendant or manager using the quoting process should be familiarized with your company's monthly rates for the given garage.
2. Monthly account quoting may be locked via PIN. Consult with your back office staff or administrator for this PIN.
3. The quoting process will send a website link to the customer's cell phone. Your company needs to have set up the VM monthly portal in order for this process to correctly redirect to your monthly portal website. Contact your VM account manager for further details.
Creating a Monthly Quote:
1. On the VM PoS home screen, select Monthly Ticket.

2. On the Monthly Leaseholder screen, select the Manage Monthly Accounts button.

3. On the Monthly Accounts page, select New Quote. This may require an access PIN depending upon the garage settings.

4. Next, enter the customer's first and last name on the popup dialog, then select Continue.

5. The customer's phone number will be requested next. The phone number is crucial as the system will send a text message to the customer's cell phone with a sign-up link to the monthly portal. If CC Terminal is selected, the customer can enter their phone number via the terminal keypads. If On Screen is selected, the attendant or manager can type in the phone number using the on-screen keyboard on the point of sale. No formatting is needed - simply type the 10-digit phone number into the phone number field.

6. Enter the agreed-upon rate in the next popup, then select continue. It is not necessary to put in a decimal point and zero if the price is a whole number such as $500.

7. Next, enter the Permit number to be used for the customer's vehicle. A permit is also known as a slot number or spot number. Multiple permits can be added to one account at a later date after the first permit and the account are created after sign-up.

8. Finally, set the start date for the account/permit. This is important as it will be the start date for billing. If the start date for an account is after the start of the billing month, the account will be prorated based on the monthly account settings for your company. Consult with your VM rep for further details. Once the Start Date is selected, the quote process is complete, and a message will pop up to indicate that the sign-up link has been sent to the previously entered phone number.
